In order to facilitate businesses in the procedures for withdrawing/replacing cash registers and interconnecting ERP software with POS, the Public Administration Authority announced the following new deadlines, with decisions by Governor Giorgos Pitsilis:
1. Withdrawal of EAFDSS and Simple FIM
- All businesses are required to withdraw their EAFDSS by July 31, 2024. The pending interconnection of the new cash systems with the POS does not justify the delay in replacement.
- Catering businesses that use simple FHMs for table service must also remove these mechanisms by July 31, 2024.
- Businesses that have already interconnected POS with their cash systems in accordance with decision A.1157/2023, par. 2.5, paragraph d, are required to withdraw the EAFDSS by October 31, 2024.
- Gas station businesses will have to stop using EAFDSS by December 31, 2024 and interconnect new cash systems with POS from January 1, 2025.
2. Permitted Mechanisms for Substitution in Catering Businesses
From August 1, 2024, catering businesses with table service that currently use EAFDSS or simple FIM must choose one of the following cash systems:
- Restaurant REPUTATION
- Restaurant FTM
- ADIME Restaurant
- Electronic data publishing provider
There will be exceptions for catering businesses located in non-tourist areas with a small population or where catering is a secondary activity. These exceptions will be determined by a decision of the Governor of the AADE, which will be issued within the week.
3. ERP to POS interface
Businesses using cash systems integrated with ERP must interconnect these systems with POS by September 30, 2024, in accordance with decision A.1155/2023.
Conclusion
The above changes aim to ensure a smooth transition of businesses to new cash systems and the completion of interfaces with POS and ERP, enhancing the transparency and functionality of transactions. It is important for businesses to prepare in a timely manner to meet the new requirements.
