Optical Fibers

Optical fibers are very thin threads made of plastic or glass, through which digital data is transmitted in the form of light. The data transmission speeds through optical fibers are immense, as data travels at the speed of light. They represent the pinnacle of data transmission technology, providing secure, reliable, and fast communication across various sectors. From private networks to academic and industrial networks, optical fibers are an integral part of business infrastructure. With high transmission speeds and resistance to interference, optical fibers offer secure and efficient data transfer, enhancing the competitiveness and performance of businesses.

Internal Installations

Fiber to the Home (FTTH) represents the future evolution of communication networks. Soon, all homes will be connected directly with fiber optic cables, utilizing existing network infrastructure that has been installed in streets by Internet service providers. OMNIA is a pioneer in this field, having already installed direct fiber optics for over 200 customers, including large companies, stores, offices, and homes. We study and design each space individually, overcoming the unique challenges and difficulties of both shared and private usage areas.

Μελέτη υπάρχοντος δικτύου
Study of Existing Network
During this process, an analysis of the existing network is conducted to evaluate its performance, security, and adequacy. The current structures and configurations are also examined to propose necessary improvements. This includes assessing the network's performance in terms of data transmission speed and response time, as well as analyzing the security measures and practices in use. The goal is to identify potential issues and suggest improvements that will enhance the network's performance, security, and adequacy, preparing it for the future needs of the business.

Network and Outlet Mapping
At this stage, a detailed record of the physical network structure is made, including the locations of outlets, routers, switches, and other equipment. The physical locations of the outlets in each area of the business are documented, as well as any other network access points. The locations of routers and switches are recorded to inform technicians where these critical network components will be placed. Any other physical structures that might affect the installation or operation of the network, such as obstacles or wiring constraints, are also noted. This detailed documentation allows technicians to prepare for the network installation with precision and efficiency, ensuring that the process will be smooth and effective.

Study of a new network and cost estimation
The design of a new network is based on the needs of the business and includes cost estimation for its implementation, including the purchase of equipment and required services. The design process starts with an analysis of the business's needs. This involves evaluating the size of the network, the number of devices and users, as well as specific requirements such as security, flexibility, and performance. Based on this information, the network topology is designed, including network nodes (routers, switches), access points, cables, and outlets.
Προμήθεια εξοπλισμού (καλώδια, routers, πρίζες, κανάλια)
Procurement of equipment (cables, routers, sockets, channels)
The necessary equipment for network construction is purchased, including cables, routers, switches, outlets, and other components. CAT6/CAT6a cables are acquired in appropriate lengths for the installation requirements. Routers and switches are selected based on the number of ports and the functions they offer. Outlets are procured for connecting devices to the network. Other essential components, such as patch panels and patch cables, are also chosen for organizing and managing the cables. During the purchase, the quality and compatibility of the equipment among the various devices to be used in the network are taken into account.
Κατασκευή καλωδίωσης τηλεφωνικού δικτύου και δικτύου δεδομένων
Construction of telephone network wiring and data network
The installation involves connecting CAT6/CAT6a cables for data transmission and telephone cables for communication. Initially, the area is prepared, and the cable routes are determined. The cables are cut to appropriate lengths and placed at access points such as outlets or patch panels. Then, connections are made to the network equipment, and connectivity and functionality are tested to ensure smooth operation of the network.

Installation of PatchPanel, Rack, cable organizers
The installation of Patch Panels and Racks is essential for the organization and management of cables and equipment in a network. Patch Panels are used to consolidate cables at a single point, while Racks provide the structure for mounting network equipment such as routers and switches. Additionally, cable organizers are installed to maintain order and facilitate cable management. This setup ensures that the network remains organized and manageable, simplifying maintenance and troubleshooting.
Ανάθεση Διευθύνσεων IP μέσω του Πρωτοκόλλου DHCP
Assignment of IP addresses via DHCP Protocol
Assigning IP addresses to each device connected to the network is crucial for management and identification within the network. Typically, this assignment is done via the DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), which automates the process. When a device connects to the network, it requests an IP address from the DHCP server. The DHCP server then assigns an IP address that is not already in use by another device on the network.
Έλεγχος συνδεσιμότητας και πιστοποίηση καλής λειτουργίας
Connectivity testing and certification of proper functioning
Testing the connectivity of each point in the network is essential to ensure the proper functioning of the network and all connected devices. During this testing process, the connectivity of cables, the quality of the cabling, and the operation of each device on the network are checked. Communication tests between devices are conducted to ensure bidirectional communication and correct data transmission. If any issues are observed, corrective actions are taken, such as reconnecting cables or replacing defective components. The goal is to ensure the stable operation of the network and seamless communication between devices.
